UA Apprentice Dave DeRaadt wins International Apprentice Competition

The United Association International Apprenticeship Competition is held every year in August in Ann Arbor Michigan as an annual event to showcase the skills of the pipe trades Apprentices of the United Assosication in the  United States and Canada. Canadian Sprinkler Apprentice Wins Prestigious UA International Apprenticeship Competition 

(Casa Notes, 2011, 3rd Issue)

On August 18th, 2011, David DeRaadt, UA Local 853, Sprinkler Fitters of Ontario made Canadian UA Apprenticeship history. In the 25 years the UA International Apprenticeship Contest has been in existence, no Canadian has ever won a competition in the five piping trades hosted at the contest. Dave is the first and he did it in convincing fashion.

Canadian Apprentice Tops in North America

Dave DeRaadt is the only Canadian to ever win at the United Association International Apprenticeship Competition, which has been running since the 1940's. "I'm pretty proud to bring it home for Canada", said DeRaadt shortly after returning from Ann Arbor, Mich.
